Parents, have you noticed a change in your teen’s behavior over the past few months? Could it be anxiety? Even in the best of circumstances, teen anxiety has devastating effects including long-term health problems, inability to fulfill responsibilities, relationship problems, hopelessness, substance abuse, self-injury, and/or suicidal thoughts. Now in a pandemic, these issues are exacerbated.

Things to look for:

  • Change in energy or activity level
  • Change in sleeping or eating habits
  • Increased irritability
  • Debilitating symptoms (e.g., obsessive thinking, insomnia, racing heart, severe headaches, dizziness, panic attacks)
  • Restlessness
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Irrational fears

Throughout the 8 week course (16 sessions) of Yoga for Teen Anxiety, this online class incorporates discussion, yoga practice, strategies for mitigating anxiety, and written reflection. Each class is 90 minutes long with time for student and teacher interaction. Class size is limited to 8 students. Classes for ages 13-15 and 16-18 are offered. Private one-on-one virtual classes are also available.
